Families today
are very important. So many options are available to them.
Have you decided
your family is just the right size? Are you not planning on having
any more children?
A tubal ligation
or vasectomy may be the answer for your family. These two procedures
are permanent methods of birth control. Voluntary sterilization is
usually considered by people who have decided that their family is
complete. It may also be considered to prevent the possibility of a
hereditary disease being passed on to children, when a woman's
health could be endangered by pregnancy in general, or when
long-term use of contraceptives proved unsuitable or unsatisfactory.
The tubal
ligation and vasectomy are safe procedures and do not require an
overnight stay.

considering either a tubal ligation or vasectomy, the Yancey County
Health Department currently has limited funds available for FREE
sterilizations for person over 21.Contact the Health Department
