Yancey County
Register of Deeds, Willoree Jobe, (shown far right) and her

Funeral services were held for Sgt.
Kevin Akins (see below) on Tuesday, March 21st. People lined the
streets of Burnsville along the processional route to show their
respect. Many waved American flags in honor of Sgt. Akins'

Danny Mcntosh (left picture) was sworn
in as Mayor and Ruth Banks (right) as Council Member for the Town of
Burnsville in ceremonies on Tuesday the 6th. Heather Hockaday was
