The Pensacola/Bolens Creek area of the
county was one of the hardest hit areas. These pictures were taken
on 9/23, one week after the major part of the storm and after much
work had been completed.
This shows where an entire section of
road had to be replaced.
There are still many areas along the
road that have deep undercuts, allowing for only one lane of
traffic.
Another one of the areas were the river
chiseled beneath the highway and completely washed away the grassed
area that was on the side of the road.
The entire upper portion of this bridge,
leading to this home, is gone.
After Frances, there was Ivan. The Bolens Creek, Cattail,
Pensacola area was one of the areas of the county that was hit hard
again. This picture of the Bolens Creek area was taken by Lori
