FWB Church at Windom will be having their annual BBQ on Friday November 6th from
11:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m., and Saturday November 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in
the church fellowship hall. BBQ plates include: BBQ, baked beans, cole
slaw, roll, dessert, and drink at $7.00. BBQ sandwich plates include: BBQ,
bun, chips, and drink at $5.00. Also available for sale will be baked goods and
homemade salsa. Proceeds will benefit the church's Fuel Fund for the Elderly and
their Ladies Auxiliary.

United Methodist Church on Highway 80 North will have a yard sale Saturday
November 7th from 8:00am-12:00pm (rain or shine) in the Fellowship Hall.

Ladies Auxiliary Supper
The Pensacola Freewill Baptist Ladies Auxiliary will be having their annual
Fall Widows Oil Fund Potluck supper Saturday November 7th starting at 5pm.
The supper will be held at the church located off Hwy 197S in the Pensacola
Community. All donations are greatly appreciated. Pastor Norman
Loveless and the women of the church invite everyone to come and enjoy a
home cooked meal.

Paint Gap
Baptist Church in Madison County is doing a food ministry for the needy on the
first and third weeks of the month, unless there is an emergency.
The only requirement is that you or someone your know needs food. Please
call 689-4841 or 206-4841 for a pickup time. If you or
someone you know needs food right away, please call and you will be
accommodated. Residents of all counties are welcome.

Bible Study at the Senior Centers *
Bible Study is held at the Mitchell Senior Center in Bakersville
every Tuesday morning at 10:00am and at the Yancey Senior Center every Wednesday

Gospel Singing
Peterson Chapel Church will be having a Gospel Singing Saturday
November 14th at 6:00pm. Singing will be The Front Porch Pickers, Higgins

Healing Service *
Plumtree Presbyterian Church will be having a Healing Service
Saturday, November 14th at 7:00pm. Many people have been healed in these
meetings. Some of the healing miracles include, necks, jaws, shoulders, backs,
hips, knees, ACL (2), feet, ankles, wrists. Recently a baby with a herniated
bellybutton was healed. The swollen, enlarged bellybutton shrunk down to normal
size after prayer. They welcome you to join them.

Mars Hill Homecoming Gospel Singing
The Mars Hill Homecoming Gospel Singing will be held Saturday
November 14th at 6:00pm in the Moore Auditorium at Mars Hill College in Mars
Hill, N.C. Singers at the event will be Paul Williams & The Victory Trio,
The Primitive Quartet, and The Simple Faith Quartet. General admission is $10 in

Chris Smith: The One-Man Quartet to Sing at Low Gap FWB
Chris Smith, formerly of the Inspirations, and now billed as The
One-Man Quartet will be singing at Low Gap Free Will Baptist Church in
Burnsville Sunday November 15th at 11:00am. He sings all four parts of
four-part harmony: tenor, lead, baritone, and bass. For more information

Bluegrass/Gospel Concert Fundraiser
Higgins Memorial UMC is hosting a
Bluegrass/Gospel Concert, Sunday night, November 15th at the Family Life Center
at 7:00 p.m. featuring regional favorites, Buncombe Turnpike. Buncombe
Turnpike plays a variety of heartfelt tunes ranging from traditional and
contemporary bluegrass to gospel and hand crafted Buncombe Turnpike originals.
With their crowd pleasing demeanor, seasoned musicianship, and powerful vocals,
the band has made a name for themselves among traditional and contemporary
listeners alike. This family night concert is part of Higgins’ Finishing Strong
campaign to pay off the mortgage on the Family Life Center building project.
There will be no admission charge for the concert, but donations will be
gratefully accepted on behalf of the Finishing Strong campaign. The concert will
begin at 7:00 p.m. and concessions will be available. Higgins Family Life Center
is just off town square, across from the Reconciliation House parking lot on
Avery Street. Load up the family, invite your friends and neighbors, and come on
down for a fun evening of good ‘ol foot-stompin’, hand-clappin’ bluegrass music!

Operation Christmas Child *
The Spruce Pine First Baptist Church at 125
Tappan Street will serve as a collection site for The Samaritan's Purse
Operation Christmas Child and will be collecting the shoe boxes November 16th
through November 23rd from 8:00am-6:00pm. Through Operation Christmas
Child, the world's largest Christmas project, area residents are packing shoe
box gifts for children in more than 100 countries suffering from natural
disaster, war, terrorism, disease, famine and poverty. From Spruce Pine
the shoes box gifts will be sorted and sent to suffering children around the
world. These shoe boxes will be filled with such items as school supplies,
toys, necessity items, hard candy and a letter of encouragement. For
step-by-step shoe box packing instructions or to register and track your shoe
box and "follow your box" to the destination country go to

Unity Baptist Church will be in revival beginning Monday November
