Cougar Volleyball Team On Saturday October 24th, the Mountain Heritage Lady Cougar volleyball team traveled to Starmount in the first round of the NCHSAA state playoffs. The cougars jumped out to an early lead in the first game and battled the former 1-A state champions throughout the first game losing a thriller 26-24. The second game remained equally as intense throughout with the cougars falling short 25-19. Starmount took the match 3-0. Coach Kevin Huskins remarked after the game, "Starmount was very athletic. I thought our girls gave tremendous effort. A few tough breaks in the first game cost us the match. I am very proud of such a young team to have battled though the adversity with sickness and injury this season and still be able to compete on such a high level."
